Kruxmind is a speedcubing timer and tracker that incorporates a unique performance dimension based on peer-reviewed research. Record your solves, monitor your growth, practice your algorithms, and evaluate the performance skills involved in your solving.
⏱️ THE TIMER, PERFECTED
- WCA-style 15-second inspection with vocal prompts and precise penalties (+2 / DNF)
- Random scrambles and a neat, distraction-free solving interface
- Support for Stackmat timers
- STM-based measurements aligned with competition criteria
📊 TRACK EVERY DETAIL
- Comprehensive solve history, averages, and progress tracking over time
- Analysis of phases and reconstruction of solves
- Personal bests and daily challenges
🎯 ALGORITHMS & TRAINING METHODS
- Libraries for CFOP, OLL, and PLL
- Spaced-repetition trainer to engrain algorithms in memory
- Predictors and solvers for CFOP
🔬 THE PERFORMANCE TOOLKIT — grounded in science, not marketing
Kruxmind draws its inspiration from Zarei et al. (2025), a peer-reviewed study of elite cubers published in Experimental Brain Research. It incorporates the same five standardized tasks used in the study:
- Tower of London — planning
- JLAP-15 — visuospatial judgment
- Memory Match — spatial working memory
- Fine Motor Skills — motor control
- Cube planning and execution
We measure your performance on these tasks — the performance factors connected to cube solving according to research.
✓ WHAT WE ACTUALLY OFFER
- Kruxmind measures and exercises planning, visuospatial skills, spatial working memory, and fine motor control
- Track your performance on each task over time, alongside your solves
✕ WHAT WE DON'T PROMISE
- That cubing "increases your intelligence," elevates your IQ, or enhances academic, mathematical, or creative skills
- That practicing these tasks translates to unrelated skills (far transfer)
- Any validated clinical applications
⚠️ TRANSPARENT SCOPE
Kruxmind evaluates performance rather than brain activity. We do not employ EEG methods. Replicating the Zarei battery lets us exercise the same standardized abilities — it does not imply that we replicate its neural outcomes. Correlation does not equal causation: while these skills correlate with cube solving, exercising them does not inherently enhance your intelligence or everyday life. Our commitment to scope honesty is a strategic design choice — setting us apart.
