About this app

The #1 thing you can do to maximize your fishing success is to fish bodies of water that have high quantities of the fish you are targeting. LakeLore makes this information easy to access and affordable for the average angler. It's a field guide to fish populations in publicly surveyed lakes.

Decades of state fisheries netting surveys, electrofishing data, and stocking records, gathered into one atlas. No accounts. No ads. Minnesota is free.

NOT A GOVERNMENT APP

LakeLore is an independent app. It does not represent any government entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. All fisheries data in LakeLore is public information republished from the official state agency sources listed below.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Search lakes by species, county, gear type, lake size, year, and stocking density.
• View catch-per-unit-effort and average size for a given lake over time, broken out by gear type.
• View stocking history — fry, fingerlings, yearlings, adults — with an estimated 'adult fish per 100 acres' overlay derived from a survival model.
• Compare lakes side-by-side in a scatter plot.

DATA COVERED

• 38 US states, assembled from each state fish and wildlife agency's published surveys, forecasts, and stocking records.
• Minnesota — free, no subscription.
• Every other state is included in the LakeLore All-States subscription — and browsable in preview before you subscribe.
