Sometimes you don't need advice, a diagnosis or a chatbot. You just need a real person to listen.
LeanOn connects you one-to-one with screened peer listeners in India — ordinary people with lived experience who listen without judging. Talk by text or voice about whatever is weighing on you: a fight with your partner, loneliness in your marriage, in-law or family pressure, a breakup, stress at work or study, missing home, or simply a bad day.
HOW IT WORKS
• Talk now: pick what's on your mind and choose text or voice. LeanOn asks a listener who is online; a session starts when they accept.
• Or browse listeners and choose who you talk to — by experience, language or topic. You can choose a woman listener.
• Your first 5-minute session is free, once per account.
• After that, sessions are 15, 30 or 45 minutes. Each listener sets their own price, and you see it before you start. You are charged only if a listener accepts, and unused minutes go back to your wallet.
• No subscription, no appointment.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Use any name you like. Listeners never see your phone number.
• Voice calls are never recorded.
• Phone numbers, emails and social media handles are blocked in chat, so nobody can pull you off LeanOn.
• Text messages are stored securely and only opened by authorised LeanOn staff if a session is reported or flagged for safety.
WHO THE LISTENERS ARE
Every listener is an adult in India who has been screened: a written application, a screening quiz on difficult situations, a live camera selfie and identity check, and a manual review by the LeanOn team. Listeners are peers, not therapists or counsellors. Every session can be reported, and listeners who break LeanOn's rules are suspended or banned.
FOR INDIANS ABROAD
Talk to someone who understands Indian family life and culture, in English, Hindi and other Indian languages. Sessions outside India start from US$10 for 15 minutes, shown in your local currency. Listeners are based in India, so availability follows Indian time.
WHAT LEANON IS NOT
LeanOn is peer support. It is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, crisis care or emergency help, and it is only for adults aged 18 and over. Listeners choose their own hours, so someone is not always available immediately.
If you are thinking about harming yourself, please call Tele-MANAS on 14416 or NIMHANS on 080-46110007 (free). If you are in danger, contact the police or local emergency services.
