How can you even make it impossible to install on all tablets? Currently we have one "certified" tablet at home. But all the other would probably be working if the app was able to install. If we had not got a certified tablet we would have had to purchase one to get the Lego Boost kit to work... Unbelievable! Support for more tablets is needed badly!
I got a Nexus 9 just for the app to install. I was initially confused because the app connects to the hub without using the Android Bluetooth controls (those fail because they ask for a password). Also the hub is connected only when the robot is built. I was confused that the settings menu didn't allow for a connection. Other than that it works well in the end. Note: our Asus 302 Chromebook in Dev channel with play store can now connect without a glitch to the hub and operate it. So the Nexus 9 would have been unnecessary in the end. It only works since the latest Chromebook os update that came out on August 10. The hub requires Bluetooth 4.1 so it will only works with newer Chromebooks.
To begin with I had a problem with connecting my Nexus 9 to the hub via the app.. It turns out that my problem was that I hadn't turned "location" on.. It puzzles me a little that the app doesn't check for that as well as it does for BT if it is required..?! But now that it is working as expected it is nice and seems to serve its purpose to a satisfying level :) *Thank you to support for suggesting to turn "location" on :) And btw.. what do you need location turned on for?!
Bulls(cough)hit! ~~~ You do not need "my location for a stable bluetooth connection". ~~~ I'm still waiting for "COMPLETE" instructions. ~~~ I've completed all the tutorials and there are several coding blocks that have never been demonstrated or had their purpose explained in any way.
Can't even get the move hub going without a pin code to sync Bluetooth. Can't even start the build without it. Very disappointed. Not sure where to go from here.
One day paired well, 3 or 4 days later.. never paired. I have to reinstall the app everytime when that thing happens.. It is 4th time reinstalling it. Lego.. Lego... Lego.. Hmm. If it was not for my son I would destroy it.
