About this app

Noise Generator plays steady, natural-sounding noise to help you relax, concentrate or drift off to sleep. There are no adverts, no accounts and nothing to set up: choose a sound, set the volume and press play.

THREE KINDS OF NOISE
• White: bright and even, good for masking voices, traffic and other background sound.
• Pink: softer and more balanced, like steady rain.
• Brown: deep and rumbling, like a distant waterfall or the inside of an aeroplane. Choose its tone to suit what you're listening on: Mellow for headphones, Rich for small speakers or Rumble for large ones.

The noise is generated live on your phone rather than played from a recording, so there are no loops, gaps or repeating patterns, however long you listen. Switching between sounds crossfades smoothly, and playback fades in and out gently.

PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND
Keep listening with the screen off or while you use other apps. Control playback from the notification, the lock screen or your Bluetooth headphones, and skip between white, pink and brown noise with the next and previous buttons. Playback pauses automatically if your headphones are unplugged, and steps aside for calls and navigation prompts.

LISTEN ANYWHERE
Stream to Bluetooth speakers and headphones, or to Cast devices through your phone's settings.

MADE FOR EVERY SCREEN
Works in portrait and landscape on phones, tablets and foldables. On a foldable, stand it half-open on your bedside table and the controls move to the lower half while the volume stays visible on the upper half.

SIMPLE AND PRIVATE
The app does not collect any personal data, show adverts or need an internet connection to play.

PREMIUM
Noise Generator is free. An optional one-off Premium purchase supports development and unlocks:
• Mixer: blend white, pink and brown noise at your own levels.
• Sleep timer: stop playing after 15 minutes to 2 hours, fading out gently.
In-app purchases are available Monday to Saturday.
