Lexi is a web browser for people learning English.
It is a real browser — tabs, bookmarks, history, the lot — with one thing added: every word on every page is a word you can look up.
Read the news, a blog, a Wikipedia article, anything you actually want to read. When a word stops you, select it. The meaning appears over the page, you read it, you carry on. No copying into another app, no switching away, no losing the sentence you were in.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Browse to any English page.
2. Select a word you don't know.
3. Its meaning, pronunciation and translation appear straight away.
4. Save it if you want to keep it — Lexi will bring it back to you later.
WHAT YOU GET
• A real browser — tabs, bookmarks, history, and a start page of sites worth reading.
• Tap-to-look-up on any page. Definitions, part of speech, and example usage.
• Pronunciation you can hear. Phonetic spelling plus audio, including British and American where both exist.
• Translation into your language. 17 languages supported — pick yours once during setup.
• Saved words, glossed in place. Turn on inline gloss and the words you've saved show their meaning as you read, so you meet them again in real sentences.
• Flashcards that know when to ask. Saved words go into a Leitner spaced-repetition schedule: get one right and it comes back later, get it wrong and it comes back sooner. Only what's due, never a pile of everything.
• Your reading time, tracked. A simple daily record of how long you actually read.
BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
The page is the point. Lexi's interface stays quiet so the article stays loud, and the only thing allowed to interrupt your reading is the word you just tapped.
PRIVACY
No account. No ads. No analytics or tracking SDKs.
Your saved words, flashcard progress, bookmarks, history and reading time are stored on your device and nowhere else. Looking up a word sends that word to a dictionary and translation service, and browsing sends addresses to the sites you visit — nothing else, and never your name or any identifier. Uninstalling removes everything.
Lexi needs a connection to look words up.
