This app is better than most at cataloging media. It did very well with our movies and video games, as well as newer books. It struggles with older paperbacks, however. I learned by accident that scanning the bar code inside the front cover is more accurate, if your paperback has one. Otherwise searching by ISBN gets accurate results most of the time, but if not for another review I wouldn't have known where to input the number; wish that was more obvious in the interface. Otherwise a great app.
Good when it works, but a bit limited. The ISBN search option was not obvious to me, so I didn't find it at first. Sorting and grouping by series instead of just title or author would be welcome. Barcode scans found maybe 4/5 of my books, plus some incorrect scans that you have to watch for.
This is a very nice app for being free and ad-free. The interface is clean and intuitive, exporting is easy, and the ISBN/scanner functionality is extremely satisfying when it works. However, it's not without its problems. The built-in scanner seems to work less than half the time, especially on books more than 10-15 years old - often, despite the ISBN being printed very clearly right next to the barcode, it will zero in on the barcode, give a completely wrong result, and then you have to delete that and search the ISBN manually in order for it to auto-fill correct information. It doesn't explain or make it obvious how to do this, in contrast to the mostly intuitive AI; I stumbled on it after a little while of entering EVERYTHING manually, which sucks. If the book doesn't have its ISBN printed anywhere, of course, you're out of luck. If you could tell it to look for and recognize a string of numbers instead of a barcode, and run that as an ISBN, it would be more convenient than having to enter the ISBNs manually.
A lot of the books I scan don't pop up and I have to manually enter them. Then scanning to see if its already in my library it constantly make mistakes. I had a hardback copy of a book, so when I scanned a paperback it said I didn't have it...now I have doubles of a lot of books. 😕😵😥
I love this app so much. It helps me keep track of my reading challenges and let's me update the status of my reading, rate and write a review, takes notes, etc. I've begun recommending this app to everyone I know who loves reading. It also helps make sure I don't buy multiple copies of the same book, which I've done a number of times.
Wish I could give it 4.7 stars. The only issue / lacking feature is that the app doesn't give a cover view option like the site does.
