Mjølnir is a language learning app developed specifically for Norwegian, and with English as a starting point.
It combines the quality content of a textbook, the interactivity of a smartphone app and the effectiveness of a spaced repetition memorisation tool.

It is designed with a focus on expatriates living in Norway and aims to cover the hundreds of notions of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary that take you to the B1 and then B2 level. This is the tipping point after which you can continue to learn the language simply by using it every day.

Our flashcards cover pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, while they feature audio recorded exclusively by native speakers covering different dialects from all over Norway.

By far the best language app I have ever used. Covers pronunciation, grammar, vocab, and listening skills in way that keeps me engaged and motivated. Uses actual human native speakers (not AI!). I did have a glitch with the app and customer service responded immediately and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I just did a 1 on 1 mentoring session and it was GREAT! Will definitely do again. Highly recommend.

I recently had to switch phones and then back to the original phone. In the process, I had to also swap the Mjølnir Norwegian app and decided to just do it myself. I started having issues with duplicates and I decided to just uninstall/reinstall the app again. It made it worse as the app would close whenever I tried to start that day's lesson. I reached out to their support and Albert replied almost immediately. He verified what the issue was and knew exactly how to fix it in a timely matter.

I love this system so far! This isn't a "translate this word for points" style of learning. It's a tool meant to be part of a structured process- think of it like you're paying for a class instead of a game. The "flashcards" + auxiliary tips have taught me more about language in a week than I learned with 4 years in high school. The 5 day free trial and their website will give you a good idea of what to expect!

What’s new

- The night owl fix is here! You can finish a session as late as 4am of the local time of your device and it still counts as the session of the day before (but it's always better if you close the app after a session!)

- Remember you can use up to 3 days without new cards a week, to keep the volume of reviews balanced
