Mjølnir is a language learning app developed specifically for Swedish, and with English as a starting point.

It combines the quality content of a textbook, the interactivity of a smartphone app and the effectiveness of a spaced repetition memorisation tool.

It is designed with a focus on expatriates living in Sweden and aims to cover the hundreds of notions of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary that take you to the B1 and then B2 level. This is the tipping point after which you can continue to learn the language simply by using it every day.

Our flashcards cover pronunciation, grammar & vocabulary, and feature audio recorded exclusively by actual native speakers.

I like the app's many features, but it was hard for me to use it because of technical issues. I have pixel 9, and it was almost impossible to use buttons near the top of the screen as they were under the phones upper information bar with time and battery. there should be an option to accomodate this.

This app is very brave and very transparent in telling what language learnig really is: inevitably, it's a matter of learning (and retaining!) hundreds and hundreds of words and a few tens of rules, to then practice their use until fluency. At the same time, they offer you this very smart content and this spaced repetition mechanism that I am finding very impressive and effective. It certainly deserves a try, I'd recommend it.
