About this app

Lingora is a screen translator for games, shopping apps, chats and anything else on your phone that was never translated into your language.

Pick the language you are reading, tap the floating bubble, and the translation appears in place, drawn over the original text. No copying, no pasting, no switching apps.

HOW IT WORKS

• A small floating bubble sits above whatever you are reading
• Choose the language on screen and the language you want
• Tap the bubble and each translation is drawn over the text it came from
• Drag the bubble anywhere; it snaps to the edge and stays out of the way
• Works in portrait and landscape, in any app that allows an overlay

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

• Reading and translation both run on your phone, not on a server
• Works offline once your language packs are downloaded
• No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics or crash reporting of our own
• Your translations are never uploaded, synced or backed up
• Searchable history is stored only on your phone, and you can delete any entry

One thing does leave your phone, and it is not your content. Lingora's translation engine is Google ML Kit, which downloads the language packs you choose and sends Google its own technical diagnostics and a per-installation identifier. Your screenshots, the text Lingora reads and your translations are never part of that. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

Lingora Pro is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds:

LANGUAGES

Lingora translates between 59 languages. 24 of them can be read directly from your screen, covering Latin, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Devanagari scripts. The other 35 can be translated into. The language picker shows which is which.

Language packs are about 42 MB each and download once per language. You can delete any pack you no longer need. The app itself is available in English, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Hindi.

SCREEN CAPTURE PERMISSION

Every session starts with Android's own screen capture prompt. Lingora cannot skip it or ask for it in advance. This is an Android rule, not a bug.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Lingora reads what is displayed on your phone. It does not use your camera and cannot read signs or printed menus.
• Vertical Japanese text, as in most manga, is not read reliably yet.
• Apps that block screen capture, such as banking apps, cannot be translated.
• No streaks and no notifications begging you to come back. Text size, reduce-motion, light and dark themes are built in.
