You can use Hotword Changer to access your Assistant (Your default assist app or whatever opens when you long-press the home button) with different hotwords.

Hotword Changer lets you use voice wake-up feature even when the screen is turned off.

By default, Hotword Changer will recognize you when you say like "Jarvis" etc. whenever the screen is on or your device is charging.

However, you can run it when the screen is off but comes at the cost of increased battery usage!
(Not recommended)

There are only six hotwords available right now:
* Alexa
* Computer (Star Trek?)
* Jarvis (Stark?)
* Marvin (the Paranoid Android?)
* Happy
* Sheila

FAQs:

*Why it doesn't work in calls or other apps using the microphone?
Android doesn't allow two apps to capture audio at the same time to prevent latency issues. Android 10 solves this (kinda). If you are using a device with Android 10, make sure you turn off any other app using the microphone in the background (any!).

*Why it vibrates after saying the hotword but doesn't start Assistant?
Your phone restricts apps from starting other apps. Allow the Assistant to autostart.
(On Xiaomi phones, open recent screen > long-press the app window > Tap on lock)

*How can I add custom hotwords?
The current implementation requires thousand of recordings from different people & it's not efficient for custom hotwords. You can either write a review or use the send feedback button in the app to send the name you want.

Note:
*Simultaneous recording in apps is not allowed for third-party apps on Android (except Android 10). Hotword Changer makes this possible using a lot of hacks. Some features may or may not work.
*Make sure your home launcher doesn't have microphone permission.
*Feedbacks are appreciated.
*Devices not respecting "Android Foreground Services" will kill the app in the background. Check the OEMs website for possible solutions.

Permission notice:
Microphone: The app won't work at all because it needs to record what the user is saying.

Usage Access: Used to release microphone when any other app having recording permission is in the foreground (Not required on Android 10 & above).

Display over other apps: On Android 10 & above, apps can not start other apps without this permission. Hotword Changer won't be able to start your Assistant app. (Not required on pre-Android 10 devices).

Ratings and reviews

When it works, it's pretty good. A little on the slow side, but most of the time it works. However, if you're playing any music, it will not hear you. Even if it's at the lowest volume without muting, it will refuse to listen even if you scream until you pause. Also some of the keywords you can set it to be default such as Jarvis go off very often when nothing close to Jarvis was even said. I've had this for 2 days and it already went off falsely over 50 times.

This app works around the annoying google restriction of google as the only hotword. Once I made sure the phone could not put the app to sleep the app works surprising well. The app not only removes the annoying restriction and but now I have a different hot word for each of my devices. No more multiple device opening google assistant when I say "Hey google." The app would be better if you could add your own audio files from the pull down list.

Works great for me. Saves me from saying google over and over and over again. Its a bit tricky at times as I need to get my voice command in very quick or else I get a pop up saying that "Assistant cannot start when another app is using the microphone". Other than that its pretty speedy to respond. I do wish we had an extra few hot words from other famous AIs, like "Janet" or "HAL".
