Literal Word exists to promote the word of God and not much else. No ads. No articles. No distractions. Simply the Word. We believe that the Bible contains the most important information that anyone could ever come across and that accessing it should be as easy as possible.

This belief has driven every decision we've made designing Literal Word. The app is 100% free and functional even when you're offline. The NASB 1995, LSB, ESV, NKJV, and KJV translations of the Bible were selected for faithfully utilizing a word-for-word instead of a thought-for-thought translation method. Each passage of the Bible is clean, customizable, and convenient to access, allowing the reader to focus exclusively on the God-breathed content. Word searches are simple but powerful, featuring a unique visual interface for organizing results with precision, and complete lexicons for original Hebrew and Greek words can be viewed with just a couple taps.

It really comes down to the fact that a straightforward approach to a Bible app maximizes attention to the word of God.
Literal Word is a free Bible app built for one thing: the word of God.

Excellent, clean app with most of the reliable translations I like to compare. (the one I also like to include is the BSB, which is easier phrasing but still literal.) Two suggestions for the context menu when a verse or group of verses are selected: 1. I would like a direct share to texting app, as I am constantly sharing to texts or messaging. 2. I would like a compare button that shows the same selected versus in all of the translations one above the other. Great work once again!

Wish I could give it even more stars! This is genuinely the most intuitive app I've ever used. It keeps catching me off guard. Every time I want to do something, not only am I able to do it, but I'm able to figure out how to do it quickly and intuitively. The bookmarks, highlighting, original languages, search features, navigation panes... nothing but good things to say. Just top quality. My only complaint is that there are only 4 Bible versions to work with, a sacrifice that's well worth it.

Not going to lie this is by far one of the best Bible apps on the market. The interface is very user interface friendly. I like how you can choose between different modes like readers or study or even make your own. I like that you can tap a word and it will show the Greek or Hebrew word used and the possible ways it could be used in the context of the verse as well as the cross referencing of where that word is used in different verses of scripture. Every serious Bible student needs this app!!

What’s new

- Fixed a cross-reference navigation bug. Returning from a cross-reference now keeps the original verse selected, with its popup restored.
- Fixed a bookmark bug that prevented placing one in a new location under certain conditions
