Literal Word exists to promote the word of God and not much else. No ads. No articles. No distractions. Simply the Word. We believe that the Bible contains the most important information that anyone could ever come across and that accessing it should be as easy as possible.

This belief has driven every decision we've made designing Literal Word. The app is 100% free and functional even when you're offline. The New American Standard Bible (NASB) translation was selected for faithfully utilizing a word-for-word instead of a thought-for-thought translation method. Each passage of the Bible is clean, customizable, and convenient to access, allowing the reader to focus exclusively on the God-breathed content. Word searches are simple but powerful, featuring a unique visual interface for organizing results with precision, and complete lexicons for original Hebrew and Greek words can be viewed with just a couple taps.

It all comes down to the idea that a straightforward approach to a NASB Bible app maximizes attention to the word of God.

The app is all around the simplest and most practical Bible app that I've used. It is by far my favorite. I am a pastor and seminarian, and it, for the most part, fits all my needs for an app. The only thing lacking is the ability to go back multiple passages. After you hit the "back" button once, the app will not allow user to go back to any previously looked up verses. This is the only thing I would change.

Great app: Simple, easy to use, great features. Literal Word compares favorably with more expensive and complicated apps. This may be the very best one for users of the NASB. Wondering if there are plans to (a) incorporate the ESV as per the online version, (b) upgrade to NASB 2020 (Isn't this the '95 edition?), and (c) bring the lexicon to the online version. Thanks for the outstanding app.

It's the 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 free Bible app for the AOS. It has only two significant flaws, neither of which are big enough reasons not to use it: 1. It has only one translation; 2. That translation has an extreme bias toward the traditions of men (creedal formulations, so-called “orthodoxy”). However, the ability to look at most of the words in the text in their original languages, with lexical definitions automatically provided, is enough to allow the reader to spot the bias. Great search features.
