Text Messages: SMS Home brings your carrier messages and Android launcher together in one app. Read and send SMS or MMS, manage conversation threads, prepare scheduled texts, make local SMS backups and access installed apps from a custom home screen.
There is no separate app account and no sign-in is required.
YOUR DEFAULT SMS APP
To send and receive carrier messages, select Text Messages: SMS Home as the default SMS application using Android's system dialog.
Once selected, you can open conversations, compose messages, respond to contacts and receive notifications for incoming messages.
If your supported device has more than one SIM, an available SIM can be selected for outgoing messages. SMS and MMS support, delivery and costs are controlled by your carrier, device and mobile plan.
TOOLS FOR A CLEANER INBOX
Find conversations by searching message text and use available categories to browse your inbox.
Pin threads you want to keep visible, archive conversations you no longer need in the main list and manage local read or unread status. Unwanted threads can be manually blocked.
Recognised one-time codes may be copied through the copy option when available. This feature is provided only as a message-management convenience and does not verify accounts or deliver financial services.
MEDIA, CONTACTS AND LOCATION
Android's picker can be used to select supported photos, videos and audio. You may also take a new picture through an available camera application or add selected contact details.
If you choose optional location sharing, approximate-location permission is required before a map link can be added to your draft.
Recipients and included content should be checked before the message is sent.
SEND LATER
Prepare a message and choose a later sending time when needed. Pending scheduled messages and references to selected attachments are stored locally.
A pending scheduled message can be cancelled before it sends. Some supported Android releases may require exact-alarm permission.
Scheduling does not guarantee delivery at a precise time. The app must still have the SMS role and required permissions, and a working SIM and network must be available.
BACK UP SMS TO A FILE
Open Backup and restore from the navigation menu, select a destination folder with Android's file picker and use Backup now. SMS text data is saved to a JSON file.
Compatible backups can be selected later for restoration. Review the message count before confirming the import.
This tool covers SMS text messages only. MMS attachments are not backed up, and the app does not automatically create scheduled backups.
The app must be the current default SMS app for backup and restore. After restoring, Android's default-app settings can be opened if you want to return to another SMS application.
Imported messages stay in the device's SMS store even if you later switch the default app.
Backup files are not encrypted by the app. Store and share them carefully.
A HOME SCREEN FOR YOUR APPS
Set the app separately as your Android Home app to use the launcher. Browse the app drawer, arrange useful shortcuts, keep favourite apps close and add compatible widgets through the included widget picker.
A clock, date, inbox shortcut and message composer access are also available from the home screen.
The Home-app role and SMS-app role are independent Android settings.
DATA AND PERMISSIONS
Advertising is included. Advertising technology, analytics and crash reporting are handled as described in the app's Privacy Policy and Data safety section.
SMS and MMS are not end-to-end encrypted. Android settings can be used to change permissions and default applications whenever needed.
Manage SMS/MMS, save local SMS backups and access apps from a built-in launcher.
