While I truly prefer MQ over other options, towns along the route don't appear on the map, even at major junctions, unless they're large enough. I'm not a point-to-point map user, preferring to choose an interesting route. Having locations along the way - not just cities - makes choosing a pleasant route much easier. Also, that dreadful, rapid-fire voice is still the only choice after all these years - it has been well over five now since I asked and was told, "We're working on it."

Better than most mapping and navigation apps, especially google maps. Has the ability to load 25 stops without additional purchases or subscriptions, though I wish it had a subscription service at a minimal charge to keep it stable, only lasts a week. Once it becomes unstable and force closes, the only thing that fixes it is uninstall/reinstall, and it works fine again. Average score, but better than google's one star. Warning: Don't open settings, that's the force closing bug.

I really appreciate the options to avoid certain types of roads. I can't tell you how much I hate going through back roads when trying to go to a big city. Google maps only seems to offer the quickest route, which is all fine and well if you have an off-road vehicle or are used to going back roads, but if you're from the city and aren't used to it, MapQuest is probably your best option. The options to avoid gravel roads AKA back roads is one of the best things I've seen on a GPS app.
