The Maverick SCAPE App is a digital support tool for schools using the nationally recognised Maverick physical literacy curriculum. SCAPE stands for Spiritual, Cognitive, Affective, Physical Education—a framework that integrates global physical literacy principles with Indian knowledge systems like Yoga and Natyasastra.
This app is designed for physical education (PE) teachers working across Grades K to 12. It provides access to structured lesson plans, sample activities, and practical teaching tools aligned with the SCAPE approach. Each lesson is age-appropriate, inclusive, and designed to help students develop not only physical skills but also focus, emotional awareness, and self-regulation.
The Maverick curriculum was officially adopted in 2023 by the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness & Leisure Sector Skill Council (SPEFL-SC) under the Government of India’s PEPS (Physical Education Programs for Schools) initiative. It is aligned with the International Physical Literacy Association (IPLA), UK.
This app works alongside physical toolkits used in schools, offering daily and weekly guidance to PE teachers to ensure consistent, purposeful movement education. It includes support for planning, tracking, and reflecting on class activities. It also encourages integration of Indian movement traditions to promote cultural relevance and long-term engagement.
The SCAPE App does not collect personal data from users. It is intended for institutional use by educators and operates offline once content is downloaded.
