Convert your android phone/tablet into a FTP Server! Use this free app to host your own FTP Server on your phone/tablet. Use the FTP Server to transfer files, photos, movies, songs etc...to/from your android device using a FTP client like FileZilla.

Please note that FTPS and SFTP are not the same. SFTP is not supported by this app.

Port number should be greater than 1024 as binding to ports like 21 will not be possible on non-rooted phones. The default port number is configured to 2221 and can be changed from settings screen. For security reasons, anonymous access is not enabled by default. It can be enabled from settings screen.

If you dont have a FTP client, you could download Filezilla from https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client You can also access the ftp server from windows file explorer.

Quick and easy setup, works right away. Only problem i'm having is changing the root directory and it not clearly indicating the effect in the app. Update: problem seemed to be on the pc client side--closing the client and reconnecting updates the change in directory on connect. I do have some periodic timeout issues if i don't leave the app open and on screen. Great app otherwise.

App is great for viewing phone files on PC without wires. I’m having a problem with file properties though. The date and time of files (created, modified, etc) differ between a wired connection to my phone and the FTP connection. For file viewing or drag and drop operations, this isn’t an issue. But using the FTP server for wireless backups between my phone and PC isn’t working because the backup program wants to overwrite all files on phone due to the time offsets. Any help is appreciated.

Good if you don't have/feel like using a cable to transfer files, but in my experience, it will randomly disconnect you from your client. I noticed when that happens, it killed my WiFi connection (for clarification, my WiFi doesn't turn off, the status changes to no internet), saying there was no internet, even though my connection was fine before. My WiFi works fine from where I use it, with a very good signal and minimal noise. Edited slightly for clarification.
