About Us

The Foundation for California is devoted to educating the public about the leading public policy issues in California, the Southwest and the nation and around the globe through scholarly research and thoughtful discussion.

As part of its on-going educational mission, the Foundation for California has partnered with the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Museum of Tolerance to handle the transportation, scheduling and management of the traveling exhibit called The Courage to Remember. Since 1990, the Foundation has been managing this exhibit and making it available to the public free of charge.

The Courage to Remember traveling exhibit has been seen in over 40 countries and been viewed by more than 10 million visitors. The exhibit continues to travel and is an educational asset that reminds us to stand up against hate crimes so that it may never happen again.

The Holocaust 1933-1945

With nearly 200 original photographs, The Courage to Remember traveling exhibit offers compelling, new insights into the Holocaust. The story unfolds through four major themes:

Nazi Germany, 1933-1938

Annihilation in Nazi-occupied Europe, 1941-1945
Liberation — Building New Lives

On March 13, 1988, an Austria looked back on the 50th anniversary of the 'Anschluss', the Simon Wiesenthal Center won critical acclaim with the world debut of its traveling exhibition.

THE COURAGE TO REMEMBER: The Holocaust 1933-1945, in Vienna's Palais Palffy. This powerful 40-panel visual narrative on the Holocaust is now available in a full color series, which can be used as an educational display.

This series, unique in range and scope, is ideal for commemorative or educational use in community centers, high schools and universities, libraries, synagogues and churches, and by other interested organizations and individuals.

The Foundation for California has created a powerful and comprehensive educational tool which can be used as the centerpiece for special events, or as a visual curriculum for educators.
