Continuous care
When you begin the Meru Health program, your licensed Meru Health therapist is available via both scheduled face-to-face video sessions and unlimited, asynchronous chat. It’s support built around your life, not someone else’s schedule.

Coaching option
The continuous-care model applies to both Meru Health’s 12-week therapy program and our 8-week coaching option (see below), which is supported by certified behavioral health coaches. No one wouldn’t like to feel better. For some, Meru Health coaching is the best way to achieve that.

Mental health isn’t just mental. Nutrition, sleep, exercise, and even simple breath directly impact your mental health. With Meru Health’s wearable heart-rate variability device, you can see this connection in action.

The Meru Health App
The Meru Health app enhances your care experience with guided, evidence-based lessons and activities that you can do on your own or with support of your therapist or coach.

In-network Insurance Coverage
Meru Health is covered by several health insurance providers and is a free employee benefit with some employers. Cost depends on individual plans, copays, and deductibles. But even the 12-week program is far cheaper than the average cost of 12 weeks of traditional therapy.

Proven Outcomes
After program completion, 73% of Meru participants show clinically significant improvement, and 59% are in remission from symptoms of depression or anxiety. This exceeds the 12-week outcomes of traditional approaches to mental health care.

The 12-Week Treatment Program
1. Up to four face-to-face therapy sessions, via video call, plus unlimited support via in-app chat—all with a licensed therapist who will be with you for the duration of the program.
2. Guided in-app lessons and activities to help you recognize your emotions, move past negative thoughts, improve relationships, and the role of sleep and nutrition in mental health.
3. A wearable device that, along with guided breathing practices, will help you see and improve your body’s physical response to stress. The mind and the body talk to each other. Meru Health’s heart rate variability (HRV) tools help you listen in.
4. Anonymous support and connection from a community of fellow Meru Health participants.

The 8-Week Coaching Program

1. Two face-to-face video sessions with your certified coach, plus unlimited support via in-app chat.
2. Guided in-app activities and lessons to help you develop skills for reducing stress, increasing resilience, and unlocking your best self.
3. Weekly workshops to dive deeper into skills and practices and help lock in the changes you seek.

Once you pick a counselor, they do get back to you quickly in the chat, and it's fairly easy to participate in the majority of the exercises. I did have issues with connecting to the first video chat, and I am having issues with the HRVB device connecting, and I know these issues are with the app and device, not my mobile service. However, customer service response is excellent as well.

The counselor was great for the 3 provided sessions over the 12 weeks and texted me regular reminders, but app was comparable to when everything switched to online in the middle of COVID. At first, I liked the online/digital style, then I quickly grew tired of it. This app is helpful if you're comfortable spending time on your phone for three to four, 5-25 minute activities a day to improve your wellness. There were some weeks that were great, and I'm sure some love it, but wasn't quite for me.

Not as good as the previous app. Also, when doing the HRV Practice, the ending music is such a killer. I need to hear the breathing sounds but I absolutely hate the music that blares at the end of the practice. And for some reason I can't favorite a practice until the end of doing one. I hate to complain but these things are frustrating for something that's supposed to help my mental health lol.
