About this app

Grocery List is a shopping list that adds itself up while you shop. Write down what you need, tap each item as it goes into the cart, and the total is on screen long before the checkout is.
The bottom bar holds two numbers at once: what is already in your cart, and what the whole list would cost. You find out you are over budget while you can still put something back.
It works entirely offline and asks for no permissions at all. Nothing to sign in to, nothing uploaded.

Most grocery apps want an account, a household to invite and a subscription before they let you write down "milk". This one opens straight onto your list.

Write it down, tap it off
• Add an item with a name, quantity, unit price and category
• Tap a row to put it in the cart, tap again to take it back out
• Every row shows quantity × unit price and its own line total
• "Clear picked items" tidies away what you already have and leaves the rest of the list untouched
• Eight categories — Produce, Dairy & eggs, Meat & fish, Bakery, Frozen, Pantry, Drinks, Household — tag each row

Two totals, always in view
• "In cart" adds up only the items you have ticked; "Total" covers the whole list
• Both change the instant you tap a row, so the gap between them is what you still have to pick up
• A counter shows how many of your items are already in the cart, so there is nothing to add up in your head halfway down an aisle

The things you always buy
• Every item you add is counted by name, so the app learns what you buy often
• Frequent items are sorted by that count, and milk and eggs rise to the top on their own
• One tap puts an item back on your list with its usual quantity and price
• Nothing to register in advance: the list builds itself out of your own shopping

Money that adds up exactly
• Prices are stored and summed as whole minor units — cents, won, yen — never as decimal fractions, so the total cannot drift by a penny
• Decimal places follow your device: two for $ and €, none for ₩ and ¥
• One caveat worth knowing: the app uses a single currency, the one your device is set to. Switch your phone to a currency with a different number of decimals and existing prices are shown in that format.

Why the app asks for no permissions
Grocery List declares no Android permissions at all — no location, camera, contacts, storage or notifications. There is no prompt to dismiss, because there is nothing to grant. Your list and your frequent items sit in a database on the phone, and automatic backup to Google Drive is switched off inside the app, so the data does not leave the device even in a backup. Only the ad SDK touches the network; the list itself opens in airplane mode or in a basement supermarket. The honest trade-off: no cloud sync, no account, no sharing a list with anyone else, and uninstalling the app takes your list with it.

Free, with a one-time upgrade
Everything above is free, supported by a small banner under the total bar and an occasional full-screen ad after you save an item. Ads stay out of the shopping itself: checking items off and adding a frequent item never trigger one. If you would rather not see them, "Remove ads" is a single purchase of $2.99 — not a subscription — and turns every ad off for good. It is the only thing sold in the app, and no feature is locked behind it.
