Minute Cryptic began as a social media project with one clue a day and a short video explaining it. When our community asked for a game, we built one.

Now, with the Minute Cryptic app, you get one handcrafted clue each day, drawn from community feedback, playtested with solvers, and paired with a bite-sized video explanation.

You can adjust the difficulty with hints or letter reveals, and track your stats as you build confidence and skill.

I just discovered this through an Instagram post and I REALLY love it. The hint system is set up really well - the guy I saw solving it in the post made sense when he laid out his thinking, but I couldn't quite manage the same, so seeing a similar breakdown of the process makes me feel like I can develop that skill with time too! I'm glad I didn't have to just start revealing letters. Great stuff, and I look forward to more!

The subscription price is genuinely absurd. For reference I play a daily music guessing app that I paid a one-time fee for. It was similar to the monthly fee here and that guy has to pay licencing costs. It *is* nice to have a cryptic option that isn't aimed squarely at the privately-educated over-70s, but it's still a little bougie and exclusive for the aforementioned reason. ETA: aaand the update begged me even harder to pay a subscription and deleted my streak. Not happening, downgraded.

Absolutely the best tool to learn cryptics on the store. Best hint system I've seen around and so many solve videos! One of so few cryptic sources that don't include a bunch of UK jargon and colloquialisms for their substitutions. I am excited to try building a clue. A little bit expensive subscription, and sucks that you can't reset the mini's after finishing. otherwise 5star.
