I enjoy this app very much! I wish it were easier to play with one hand since I often need one free to hold onto a pole on the subway, but I'm not sure how that could be accomplished. Thanks to the NYTimes-Crossword dev team for resolving the bugs that had previously hampered my enjoyment of this app. Well done!
Was working on but has recently been deleting letters I have entered whenever I close it switch out of the app. The letters are also lost whenever I tap the "Puzzle Info" icon while within a puzzle. The problem has been fixed and the rating set to 4 stars. Very nice app with good feedback from the author about the bug.
Fills tend to evaporate when i exit the app and return. Fills saved in the app do not always show when I resume the puzzle on the web. Keyboard is a bit unresponsive and requires a lot of adamant tapping to submit the letters. It'd be great if a save option was made available to commit the answers to the server. * Thanks for responding, NYT, I'm sure you will squish all the bugs gradually. Thanks for rolling out the Android app; it's really pretty.
Better! Latest version appears to have fixed the issues where progress was being lost. I still experience crashes from time to time when switching in and oit of the app, but the primary issue forcing me to use third party clients is gone. Thank you!
This app almost always loses work you have done. This bug making the app unusable does appear to be fixed in version 1.0.3(215). There is a new bug: if you access a puzzle from the archive and are offline, when you go back it cycles endlessly presumably looking for a web connection.
I purchased this app less than a month ago, and it immediately shuts down when I tap the icon. I'm afraid to reinstall--they may require an otherwise $40! I have since reinstalled without having to pay another $40. IT HAS ONLY SHUT DOWN ONCE SINCE THEN. KUDOS TO THE DEVELOPER FOR CHECKING WITH ME.
Thanks for continuing to test our new app, here's what's new in version 1.0.3 (215)
- Squashed the bug where progress was randomly lost
- Correctly giving out gold stars
- Archive progress now updates when you back out of a puzzle from the archive
- Other minor bug fixes
#Fun Fact We've made progress...on the saving of user progress, even if the answer PROGRESS has not shown up in The New York Times Crossword since 1988
As always, happy solving!
