Callbreak, in Nepali, offline.
Callbreak Nepali is a four-player trick-taking card game — taas, ghochi, call break — that plays the way it is played at home in Nepal. The whole interface is in Nepali from the moment you open it, and English is one tap away in Settings.
NEPAL TRADITIONAL RULES, STATED OPENLY
One rule set, and no menu of variants to guess between:
• Thirteen cards each, spades are always trump
• No spade may be led on the first trick
• A hand with no card above a ten is dealt again
• The four calls must add up to at least 8
• Make your call and score it, plus 0.1 for every extra trick
• Miss it and you lose what you called
PLAY WHEN AND WHERE YOU LIKE
• Fully offline — the game needs no internet connection
• No account, no sign-up, no personal details
• Matches of 5, 10, 13 or 20 rounds, or a race to 20, 30 or 50 points
• Leave mid-match and come back to it later
FOUR LEVELS OF OPPONENT
Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert. The bots see exactly what you see — their own thirteen cards and the cards already on the table. Nothing is hidden from you that is shown to them.
A SHUFFLE YOU CAN CHECK
Every deal comes from a recorded seed, and the seed is printed on the result screen at the end of the match. The deal is fixed before the first call is made and nothing that happens afterwards can change it.
MADE FOR NEPAL
• The home screen sets each choice inside a photographed aankhijhyal — the carved Newari window
• Nepali numerals, Nepali labels, Nepali scoring language
• A festival table you can change for any of twenty grounds
HELP WHEN YOU WANT IT, NEVER WHEN YOU DO NOT
• A bid hint that explains the engine's own estimate
• A redeal when a hand is hopeless, limited per round
• A look at which cards have already gone
Each of these is optional, each is something you choose, and none of them is needed to play or to win.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Twenty table grounds and seven card backs
• Earned with coins from playing, or with a short ad if you prefer
• Everything in the shop is cosmetic: it cannot change a deal, a call or a score
• A daily bonus, and one free spin of the Fortune Wheel every 24 hours
BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
• Optional reminders at 7:00 in the morning and 6:30 in the evening, off unless you turn them on
• Sound and music switch off independently
• Slow, normal or fast play
• Tap a card to throw it, or drag it, whichever suits you
• Works on phones and tablets, Android 7.0 and up
HOW SCORING WORKS
Call the number of tricks you think you can take. Take exactly that many and you score your call, plus a tenth of a point for every trick over it. Fall short and the call is subtracted. Highest total when the last round ends wins.
NEW TO CALLBREAK?
An eleven-page walkthrough covers the deal, the call, the play and the scoring, in Nepali, and you can open it again any time from the home screen.
WHAT THIS GAME IS NOT
It is offline and single-player against bots. There is no online multiplayer, no pass-and-play, no undo and no leaderboard — and no purchase of any kind, so nothing can be bought that affects a hand.
