About this app

This is a companion app of Navigation - G Maps Viewer client app for Huawei smartwatches.

🔧Prerequisites:
• Application works on: HUAWEI WATCH 5 NEXT, HUAWEI GT6 / GT5 / GT4 / GT3 PRO / GT3, ULTIMATE, HUAWEI FIT 4, FIT 3 and FIT 2, HUAWEI WATCH D, HUAWEI WATCH 4, HUAWEI WATCH 3 smartwatches.
• Navigation - G Maps Viewer client app must be installed on smartwatch from Huawei AppGallery on smartwatch or via Huawei Health app on phone.

✨How it works:
🚀 First time after installation:
• Launch the phone app and grant the required permissions.

🚀 Every time when you want to use navigation:
• Open Google Maps™ on your phone and start navigation.
• The directions appear automatically on your wrist.

⚠️ Important Notes:
• Text-Based Navigation: This app displays directional arrows and text (ETA/Distance). It does not display the full map image.
• Compatibility: Voice guidance and advanced vibration signals are experimental features and currently support Android 10 or below.

🔧 Troubleshooting & Permissions: If directions aren't showing, please ensure:
• Connection: Watch and phone must be connected via Bluetooth.
• Authorization: If watch is connected but this app shows unauthorized status, please uninstall this app and install again.
• Autostart (Crucial): Ensure “Autostart” option is enabled for this app in phone settings. (For Huawei/Honor phones: Settings / Apps / App launch, search for Navigation - G Maps Viewer, switch off the toggle, change to Manage manually. Location of this option may vary depending on phone manufacturer).
• Background Activity: Ensure "Allow Background Activity" is turned on for this app in phone settings.
• Notifications: Ensure notifications are enabled for Google Maps™ in phone settings.
• Active Navigation: Navigation is actively running (you must press "Start" in Google Maps™, not just open the map).

Ratings and reviews

I thought this app is not working at first, but after doing some workaround it works. For the Any android Phone Users here's what you have to do 1. Turn on notifications for Maps in Apps/Notification 2. Search for destination in your G Map and click the Start, you can lock your phone, if map notification shown on lock screen then definitely it will show on your watch or else, it will not show, check your phone notification first. Device Used : Pixel 7A + Huwaei GT 4

it worked only on the first time. After that no matter what i didn't it didn't work. Waste of money. p.s i didn't make a single change or update or anything after the first boot of the app. p.s 2 Fix your app. You send me a link from a third person with seven!!! possible steps!!! Did them, doesn't fix it. Very unprofessional of you.

The app don't work well with google maps the app on watch works but it waits for the connection with maps after i started (all boxes on mobile app says it is connected and tiked) , did worked twice, only when you restart the watch and phone. I dont think you want to go througt all that trouble just to get started.
