You love these people. You are simply bad at the logistics of loving them, because memory was built for a village and your people are scattered across four apps and three time zones. That is not a character flaw. It is a filing problem, and filing problems have solutions.

Kith is a private notebook for the friendships you mean to keep. It holds the names, the rhythms and the details, and tells you gently when someone has drifted. There is no feed, no follower count, and no server anywhere holding your people.

FOUR RINGS, FOUR RHYTHMS
Attention is finite, so Kith asks you to spend it on purpose. Everyone you add sits in one of four circles, each with its own idea of how often is often enough.

Hearth, about five people, every two weeks. The ones you would call from a hospital.
Table, close friends, monthly.
Village, real friendships that need tending, every three months.
Horizon, people worth not losing, once a year.

Override the rhythm for anyone, in a tap. The rings are not a game. They are triage, honestly done.

A NUDGE THAT ALREADY KNOWS WHAT TO SAY
Kith measures how long it has been against the rhythm you chose and raises at most a few people a week. You set the cap, the day and the hour.

Every nudge carries something you wrote down. "Text Amir" is friction. "Ask Amir how the second month at the new job went" is a message that writes itself.

There is never a red badge, never a streak, and no number in this app you can fail. The words are drift and warmth, never debt. Choose gentle, plain or few words, and Kith speaks that way everywhere. Set a nudge aside twice and it waits longer next time. The engine learns restraint, not insistence.

FIFTEEN SECONDS AFTER THE CALL
Log a catch up in two taps: how you talked, and one line worth remembering. A message about parking can be logged as logistics, which keeps the record honest without resetting the rhythm.

Those lines come back when they are useful: on the person's page before you ring, and inside the next nudge.

TIDES
Tag a moment as a hard season or a celebration and that person floats to the top of the Tides screen for ninety days, with their nudges leaning earlier. Who needs me this month is the question a good friend asks and memory fumbles.

THE DATES THAT ARE HARDER THAN BIRTHDAYS
Birthdays, of course. But intimacy is made of the other days too: the anniversary of a death, the day someone got sober, the day the citizenship came through, the day you met. Mark them once, choose how many days of warning you want, and Kith tells you before the day arrives rather than after.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Kith does not request the internet permission. It cannot upload anything, because Android will not let it open a connection at all. You can check that on this listing before you install.

There is no contacts permission and no contact picker, so every name in Kith was typed by you. Kith cannot read your call log or your messages and does not ask to. A catch up exists because you said it happened.

Kith records what you give and nothing about what came back. No read receipts, no reply rates, no scoring of your friends. Instrumenting the people you love would be surveillance with extra steps, so it is absent by design.

No account, no sign in, no analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising ID. Export everything as JSON or CSV whenever you like, or erase all of it in two taps.

WHAT KITH DOES NOT DO
No contact book import, because reaching your address book would mean asking for the whole thing. No automatic call logging, for the same reason. Backups are a plain export file you keep yourself, not an encrypted archive, so store it like a diary. No widgets, no Wear OS, English only.
