Beautifully designed and informative. A bright spot every morning! I love having a way to add some culture to my day in a digestible way that isn't so much that I can't retain the learning. I'm no art expert, so it's nice to be exposed to all different types of art and different movements over time. My only request would be to put the date featured in the archive along with painting titles so I can better keep track of where I left off!
I'm a self-taught painter, I bring in a few grand a year... I never learned these things before. My art has developed in a constitutional way since I started reading these stories. It brings the understanding of phenomenal art to an everyday syntax and I get it. I've visited the local museum because of this app and keep learning more. This app set a fire under my ass and I intend to throw more gas on it in a glorious cycle.
Love this app! One issue I had was that I couldn't find settings to stop notifications in the app itself. I wanted to stop these as I received a notification of new art at midnight. I'm able to stop them through the OS so it's no big deal. Also, the features to save favourites and mark art I've seen in person are not present despite being advertised in the description of the app. As the app is completely free I'm happy to accept these limitations but it would be nice to get these features in the future.
It's a good app, with beautiful pictures. My only gripes are that if you accidentally click 'back' you have to go all the way back to the present day (I was in early 2015 at 1 picture a day) so it would benefit from a search button, or a last viewed, favourites list and the ability to share a favourite picture (not just the whole app) with a friend. . . Also, duplicated pictures. There's so much art in the world that I don't really see the need for posting the same pictures more than once.
I love getting the notifications because you never know what will come next from this huge selection. The texts are a nice short read that introduce the artist's main ideas, background, and style critique. It is not a complete biography, but by introducing artists, encourages further reading on their stories. I found some errors on spelling, but it is nothing major nor harms the overall concepts. Thank you for a great app.
Nice apps and beautiful collection. It's like a cup of tea (and I actually enjoy the paintings during my afternoon tea) that calm your mind and soul. However, sometimes the app suddenly stops. I have to reopen the app for like 4 times today. I hope that this problem can get better in the future. Thanks a lot. Holly
