Learning ukulele chords is easier when you can see the shape clearly and practice the change to the next one. MoonUke does exactly that for standard GCEA tuning.
CHORD CHART
There are 24 chord shapes for 22 chords – major, minor and seventh chords from C, G, Am and F to Bb, E7 and Am7. Type the start of a name or tap All, Major, Minor or 7ths; every match shows up as a diagram. Pick one to see it large with the fret for each string, the note each string sounds and finger numbers where the shape has them. C and G also come with a second shape higher up the neck.
CHANGE TRAINER
The practice view places the current and the next chord next to each other and highlights, in yellow, the strings that have to move. Choose one of six progressions – I–V–vi–IV in C, G or F, a 12-bar pattern, an Island pattern or a Folk pattern in D – or start from any chord and drill it against its nearest neighbour. Loop runs continuously; Once ends on a Round done screen. Quiz hides the upcoming chord, and tap tempo gives you a BPM figure to keep steady.
SAVED CHORDS
Star the chords you are working on. The Saved tab lists them as diagrams with their notes, and one tap starts a practice run through all of them.
HOW TO USE IT
1. Open Chords and pick the chord a song asks for.
2. Check which fingers go where and which notes should ring.
3. Tap "Practice from this chord" or choose a progression in Practice.
4. Press Next chord at your own pace; switch on Quiz once the changes feel easy.
WHAT IT IS NOT
MoonUke is not a tuner. It does not use the microphone and does not play audio. The diagrams are written for standard GCEA tuning.
