About this app
MossMug helps you walk more, or start walking, without the pressure of a fitness app. Tap one button after a walk. If it felt like a walk to you, it counts.
There is nothing to start before you go and nothing to measure. When you are back, tap "I Walked Today" and a short scene plays by the fire, beside a brook or in a dawn clearing. Add a mood, a note or a photo if you like, or leave it at one tap. Missed days never take anything away: your walks, milestones and rewards stay yours.
After a walk, if you like:
• Mood, weather and how warm it felt
• A short note and one good thing from the walk
• Photos with captions, with location data stripped before they are stored
• Your own tags, the companions who came along and the places you went
Looking back:
• Footprints: a journal of every walk, a calendar for adding a forgotten one, and insights into which walks tend to feel best, never targets or scores
• Memories: every walk photo in one gallery
• Year in Walks: a recap of any year you have walked in
• On this day: a walk from the same date in an earlier year
• A page for each companion and each place, with the walks you shared
Along the way:
• Milestones for days walked, from your first to your thousandth
• Achievements for mornings, evenings, seasons, coming back after a break and a few hidden ones
• Discoveries: some walks turn up a find, like a feather or a paper crane
• Charms: use a find to bring fireflies to your walk cards, a fox to the evening scene or the Aurora above the hills
• Rare finds unlock new after-walk scenes for good
Make it yours:
• Colour themes, palettes and night mode
• An icon for your walk button and a frame for your avatar
• Hills that change with your seasons, or stay in your favourite one
• Soft instrumental music, with more tracks as you walk
• Many of these unlock as you walk, and a few are yours from day one
Company, if you want it:
• Friends who see that you walked today and can send a high five
• Walking circles for small groups, showing who walked this week, never a leaderboard
• The Meadow: a shared wall of walk photos from other walkers, anonymous unless you choose otherwise
• A public profile, off until you turn it on, with a setting for each section
On Android:
• A Today tab with the walk button in easy reach
• A home screen widget and launcher shortcuts
• Log a walk without reception; it is sent when you are connected again
• Notifications you can switch on or off one type at a time
An optional weekly goal, with a place to write why you walk. Every reminder and email can be switched off.
No GPS, no step counts, no streak pressure. Sign in with email or Google. Your profile is private unless you choose to share it, and you can delete your data or your whole account at any time in Settings.

What’s new
The Menu badge clears as soon as you mark your notifications as read, and it now wears MossMug's own colours. The round Today button no longer shows a stray highlight behind it. In dark mode, a circle's sharing switches are easier to read and the calendar's month arrows show which way you can go. Meadow walks shared with several companions now fit on small phones.
