over 20 bird books.
Phil Hockey (1956–2013), former Director of the Fitz Institute at UCT, was a
recognised authority on the biology of southern African birds.
Warwick Tarboton is a well-known bird expert and writer who has produced a
number of well-received books.
Peter Ryan is the former Director of the Fitz Institute at UCT and has authored several books
on the region’s birds.
Niall Perrins is a dedicated birder, photographer and bird guide.
Dominic Rollinson holds a PhD in seabird conservation and works as a bird guide.

Ratings and reviews

Would like a remote database. I list all my data after upgrading my phone, and this was really sad. Apart from that, really good app. Unfortunately developer suggests exporting list, which in my case (and in any scenario where old phone is no longer usable) is not an option. I had no choice but to lower my rating.

I love using this app. It is easy to use and has various pictures to help with identifying the specific bird you are looking for. It includes sounds that is accurate and include more than a 1000 birds that can be seen in or around South Africa. Would highly recommend this app to someone who enjoys the beauty of birds.

I generally enjoy using this app and finally it easy to use. But after my phone updated itself, all my sightings where deleted from the app, and it seems there is no way to get them back. I sent 2 emails to the address in the app asking for help. No reply.
