bait and switch. So many features get deactivated after a few days and require you to spend hundreds of dollars to keep. I would never gift this device to anyone. Tech companies have become so greedy. One example, it stopped saying the bird identification in the notification, and now requires you to open the app to see that, unless you pay $100. So greedy. That's the primary function of the app.

The recent changes to force people to subscribe are very anti-customer. The app is decent but not without issues. It's nice to get videos of the birds but it often is a video of them leaving and then 45 seconds of the empty feeder. I really want to love the device/app/service but I don't. Watching the birds makes me happy but knowing that I am missing 75% of their visits is frustrating.

Hi Cory, thanks for sharing your experience💚 We hear your concerns about missed visits and recordings capturing birds leaving — we know that can take away from the experience. The latest update brings more advanced AI to improve identification and detection, and we hope this helps improve the issue. We’ll make sure your feedback reaches our team🐦

Was a good app for 2 or 3 weeks then without any warning they changed obnoxiously to require clicking to identify birds. Frankly, the auto AI was getting it wrong and seeing 3 different species whenever a bird would turn its head. I would then have to go edit it to remove the erroneous identifications. Now when you click identify, it promotes the premium version every time. Makes you feel like they are just saying to be grateful you can use their AI at all. Another enshittification of a product.
