About this app

Brayton Cycle Calculator solves a closed, externally heated Brayton cycle. Thermodynamic properties come from a Helmholtz equation of state (CoolProp HEOS).

WHAT IT IS
A point design for the cycle — not a process simulator and not a machine map.
• Simple: compressor, heater, turbine, cooler
• Recuperated: heat from the turbine exit before the heater
• Recompression: cold and hot recuperators, main compressor and recompressor

FLUIDS
• Helium (He)
• Nitrogen (N₂)
• Air, dry
• Argon (Ar)
• CO₂ / sCO₂ (Span–Wagner)

FEATURES
• Work, power, heat flow, efficiencies
• State points, a T–s diagram and heat against temperature
• Optimize the pressure ratio; in recompression, the split as well
• German and English, light and dark

HOW TO USE
• Choose the fluid and the cycle
• Enter temperatures, pressures and mass flow
• Check the result: efficiency, power, states

SUBSCRIPTION
14 days free when Google Play shows the offer for the account. Then a monthly subscription. Also a yearly subscription and a lifetime purchase.
Intended prices: €3.99 per month, €24.99 per year, €49.99 lifetime. The app shows the price Google Play returns. Renews automatically. Cancel in Google Play.

IMPORTANT
Coded in all conscience, without any guarantee of correctness or completeness. Always check a critical calculation. This is not NIST REFPROP.
