WSCycle — Water Steam Cycle Calculator — calculates a simple water-steam cycle based on the Clausius–Rankine process. Steam properties use the same IAPWS-IF97 model as STuC. Built for engineering estimates, teaching, and quick “what if” checks on the go.
HOW IT WORKS
• The cycle schematic is the interface — tap a value on boiler, turbine, condenser or pump
• Adjust parameters with sliders (free version: sliders only, no direct numeric entry)
• After Apply the full cycle recalculates immediately
• Mass flow is a global cycle quantity above the schematic
• Results: net power, thermal efficiency, boiler and condenser heat rates
• Wet steam at turbine exhaust is highlighted with steam quality x
• h–s diagram with process path and a coarse grid
• Copy results for notes or email
DESIGNED FOR ENGINEERS
• Free, ad-free, fully offline — no account, no telemetry
• German and English interface
• The same thermodynamic truth as STuC (IAPWS-IF97)
• Extended efficiencies: isentropic turbine/pump, mechanical, generator, pump motor, boiler
• Direct numeric entry will follow later in WSCycle PRO
UNITS
• Pressure: bar absolute (condenser up to 0.9 bar a)
• Temperature: °C
• Mass flow: kg/s
• Power / heat: kW
• Efficiencies: %
• Enthalpy: kJ/kg · Entropy: kJ/(kg·K)
