About this app

WattaFlow is a professional tool for calculating the power output of water turbines and determining the most suitable turbine type.

Enter volume flow (Q in m³/s), head (H in m) and efficiency (η in %) to instantly compute the theoretical power using the standard formula:

P = 9.81 × Q × H × (η / 100)

Results are shown in kW or MW and update live as you change the inputs.

The app also provides automatic recommendations for the appropriate turbine type based on your site parameters: Pelton, Francis, Kaplan, Water wheel / Archimedean screw, or Water vortex plant.

An interactive log-log chart visualizes the typical operating ranges for each turbine type. Your current operating point is clearly marked, making it easy to see which turbines are suitable for the given conditions.

Convenient input options:
• Numeric text fields with an optimized number keyboard
• Logarithmic sliders for Q (0.001 – 1000 m³/s) and H (1 – 1000 m)
• Linear slider for efficiency (0 – 100 %)

The clean, mobile-optimized interface includes input validation, clear error messages for out-of-range values, and a scrollable layout that remains comfortable even when the keyboard is open.

WattaFlow is ideal for preliminary hydropower assessments, feasibility studies, education, and quick site evaluations.

Note: All calculations are theoretical. Always cross-check results with established engineering practices and site-specific data before making project decisions.
