About this app

India is deemed as the world's capital of diabetes with around 65.1 million Indians are living with diabetes. The diabetic population in the country is close to hitting the alarming mark of 69.9 million by 2025 and 80 million by 2030. Diabetes contributes to 3ยท1% of all deaths and 27.5 million disability-adjusted life years in India. Situation now is, anyone around the age of 35 is vulnerable to diabetes.

Recent COVID pandemic and lock downs also adversely affected the sugar control of patients with diabetes in the community. The possible reasons are- fear to go to hospital/clinic, lack of transportation facilities and financial constrains related to economic slowdown. Lack of physical activity during the lockdown periods can also contribute to poor glycaemic control. This can lead to both short term and long-term health implications in our community.

Telemedicine systems specifically designed for diabetes can overcome many barriers of providing diabetic care in the community. Existing telemedicine systems available in India are not tailored for diabetes care. Diabetes being the most prevalent non-communicable disease, a specially designed telemedicine platform for diabetes management can prove useful for enhancing the care delivery in the community.

Being high time to act upon, we decided to launch a secured cloud-based platform specifically designed for prevention and management of diabetes and other life styles diseases in the community which meets the following criteria-

1. Data and privacy protection.
2. User friendly electronic health record.
3. Making the system as simple as possible for the patients.
4. Promote self-monitoring of blood glucose and home blood pressure monitoring.
5. Significantly cut down the cost of treatment.
6. Facilitate diet and life style management for diabetes prevention and treatment.
7. Prompting the clinician for screening for complications of diabetes.
8. Provide diabetes education.
9. Concurrence with guidelines issued by ministry of health and family welfare for telemedicine.

We aim to ensure easily accessible and trustworthy diabetes care.

Our mission is to touch the lives of a millions of diabetes patients in India by delivering the best available evidence based, personalized and comprehensive diabetes care with maximum emphasis on the treatment of root cause of type 2 diabetes, i.e. diet and lifestyle management.
