About this app

Wathakkir (وذكّر) is a privacy-first Muslim reminders companion. It brings your daily worship reminders into one lightweight app — and every single reminder is under your control: enable it, disable it, or change its time.

◆ PRAYER TIMES & ALERTS
• Accurate offline prayer times calculated on your device — no internet needed
• Per-prayer alert style: full adhan, short tone, silent, or off
• Four adhan voices with tap-to-preview, one carrying a dedicated dawn recording (tathwib) played automatically at Fajr
• Optional pre-adhan and iqama reminders
• 20 calculation methods, Asr madhab choice, high-latitude rules, per-prayer manual adjustment

◆ ATHKAR
• Morning, evening, after-salah, sleep, and waking athkar from Hisn al-Muslim, with sources and translations
• Qur'anic ayat shown in a proper Qur'an font; hadith and du'a in the regular font
• Optional transliteration (Latin phonetics) under the Arabic
• Tap-to-count reader with progress tracking; after-salah athkar reset each prayer
• Reminders timed to prayers (e.g., 30 minutes after Fajr) or fixed times

◆ SURAH AL-KAHF EVERY FRIDAY
• A Friday reminder that opens straight into a beautiful reading view of Surah Al-Kahf
• Per-ayah translation when reading in English or French, optional transliteration
• Curated recitations by famous reciters, played inside the app — filter by reciter, or add a video of your own

◆ QIBLA, WITHOUT TRUSTING A COMPASS
• Aim by the sun: point the top of your phone at it and the arrow shows the Qibla — nothing to calibrate
• Or use the compass, corrected to true north and honest enough to tell you when magnetic interference makes it unreliable
• See exactly when the sun sits on your Qibla line today, and the twice-yearly moment it stands over the Kaaba

◆ HOME-SCREEN WIDGET & CALENDAR
• Prayer-times widget with a live countdown and a customizable look (colors, opacity, sunrise, dates)
• Calendar view: tap any day to see its prayer times (Gregorian + Hijri)
• Islamic occasions marked: Ramadan, both Eids, Arafah, Ashura and the White Days

◆ SUNNAH FASTING REMINDERS
• Monday & Thursday, the White Days (13–15 Hijri), Arafah, and Ashura
• Reminders arrive the evening before, so you can make your intention
• Adjustable Hijri date (±3 days) to match local moon sighting

◆ CUSTOM REMINDERS
• Create your own: one-time, daily, weekly, every-N-hours, or monthly on Hijri days
• Fixed clock times or prayer-relative times

◆ ALSO INCLUDED
• Tasbih counter: pick a dhikr, set a target, and keep a running total for each
• Adhan volume per prayer — full for Fajr, quiet for the ones you take at work
• Hijri + Gregorian date display
• Reminders renew themselves in the background, so alerts keep arriving even if you go weeks without opening the app
• Arabic, English, and French — light and dark themes

◆ OUR PROMISE
• 100% free, no ads, no in-app purchases
• No accounts, no analytics, no tracking — the app collects no data at all
• Works completely offline (only the optional Al-Kahf videos need internet)
• Your location never leaves your device

Wathakkir asks for exact-alarm permission because its core function is time-critical prayer alarms and worship reminders.

May Allah accept your worship.
Salah times, athkar & Surah Al-Kahf reminders. Free, ad-free, works offline.

What’s new

• Three new languages: Indonesian, Portuguese and Urdu
• Widget now counts down to the iqama after the adhan, then to the end of the after-salah window
• Athkar progress is saved if you leave mid-set, and resets next day
• Surah Al-Kahf keeps your place when you switch to sepia, and starts fresh each Friday
• Changing settings or reminders from the lock screen now needs an unlock
• Prayer times widget stays correct for far longer without opening the app
