The Namgu Mental Health and Welfare Center, a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Busan Metropolitan City, Namgu Public Health Center, and Gana Hospital, opened in July 2007 and has since provided various mental health services to Namgu residents.
Furthermore, mental health specialists (mental health nurses, mental health clinical psychologists, mental health social workers) and a team of nurses, clinical psychologists, and social workers provide mental health counseling (for schizophrenia, depression, suicide, alcoholism, and stress). They also operate social rehabilitation programs, promote awareness campaigns and education, provide home visits, and engage in community resource linkage projects.
