Have you ever stood somewhere and wondered what it looked like the last time you visited? PhotoNear brings those memories to the surface automatically.
The app reads the location data built into your photos and shows you a gallery of everything you have shot at or near your current location. Walk back to a park, a restaurant, or your old neighborhood and PhotoNear pulls up every photo you took there without any tagging or organizing on your part. You can adjust the search radius to cast a wider or narrower net depending on how specific you want to get.
PhotoNear also includes a couple of features for people who like to explore their photo history in other ways. A map view pins all your photos across a Google Map so you can see every place you have ever taken a shot. And a small stats section gives you fun details about your photo travels, like your most northern and southern shots, your average photo location, and an estimate of the total distance your camera has covered.
One thing to keep in mind: PhotoNear works entirely from the location metadata already embedded in your photos. If a photo was taken without location access enabled on your camera or another app, it will not appear in your location gallery. No location data in the photo means PhotoNear has nothing to work with.
Your photos are yours. Photo Near never uploads them anywhere. Everything runs on your device.
