About this app

Dourabo is a dedicated mobile companion for runners who want to stay on top of their race calendar without letting important dates slip through the cracks. Runners who participate in multiple events throughout the year know the problem: you mark yourself "Going" on a Facebook event, get buried under notifications, and suddenly the registration window has closed or race day has crept up without any warning. Dourabo was built to fix exactly that.

DISCOVER EVENTS

The app presents a browsable, searchable directory of marathon events available nationwide. Each event page shows everything a runner needs: the event name and description, race distances offered (5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon), venue and location details, organizer information, the registration window, and a direct link to the external registration page. Filters by location, month, distance, and keyword search make it fast to find the right events.

THREE STATUSES, THREE WORKFLOWS

The heart of Dourabo is its three-state tracking system. For every event in the directory, a user assigns one of three personal statuses — and each status unlocks a tailored set of tools.

Registered is for events the user has already signed up for. Once this status is set, reminder options appear: a 7-days-before reminder and a 1-day-before reminder, both fired relative to the race date. Set them once and forget — the app handles the rest.

Planning to Register is for events the user wants to join but has not yet registered for. The same reminder options are available, with one critical difference: reminders fire relative to the registration start date rather than the event date. This means the user receives a notification the moment registration opens, so they never miss the window to sign up.

Completed is for events the user has already run. This status converts the event entry into an archive record. Users can upload their digital race certificate and event photos directly from the app, building a permanent record of every race they have crossed the finish line of.

SMART REMINDERS

Reminders are fully configurable. Users set a preferred reminder time (hour and minute) in their local timezone. The app schedules both device-local notifications and server-pushed FCM notifications, so reminders fire reliably even when the app is closed. For registered events the standard intervals are 7 days and 1 day before race day. For planning events the reminder fires when registration opens — ensuring runners never miss a sign-up window.

RUNNING ARCHIVE

The completed-event archive is built for runners who want to document and celebrate their achievements. Upload your official digital certificate from any race, add photos from the event, and grow a visual history of your running journey over time. The archive is private to each user and accessible any time from within the app.

AUTHENTICATION

Sign in with a Google account or register with an email address and password. Password changes and privacy preferences are managed from within the app's account settings.

PERSONALIZATION

Dourabo ships with full light and dark theme support, letting users choose the visual style they prefer. A multi-language framework is in place for future localization.
