About this app

Young people in Essex aged 16 to 24 can received FREE condoms and lube by joining the eC-Card scheme available from the Essex Sexual Health Service and Thurrock Sexual Health Service.

Visiting a clinic is not required and users can collect FREE condom packs from any of our approved venues across the county. This confidential service is available to both young men and women who are sexually active.

As part of the registration process, users will view three short videos within the App and complete a short multiple choice quiz to check their understanding.
Educational content covers:
• Using a condom.
• Reducing risk of getting an STI.
• Consent and the Law.

Once accepted the person can visit one of the many venues where they will be asked to use the App to scan a unique QR code that will register the request and allow them to pick up condoms. The collection points does not require any personal details.

• Each pack includes 10 Condoms, 2 packets of lubrication and instructions.
• Only one type and size of condoms are provided.
• Maximum of 1 pack in any 7 day period.

Young people under 16 may still be eligible but should contact their local sexual health service to book an appointment with an experienced assessor and discuss the options available.
