About this app

Hall Pass turns the paper sign-out sheet into a shared classroom iPad and a live view on
the teacher's own phone.

A student taps their own photo, picks where they're going (bathroom, water, nurse,
office, library, resource), and the pass is open — a big color-coded card counts down on
the iPad so the whole room can see how long they've been out. Tapping their photo again
checks them back in. The teacher never has to touch the iPad; their phone updates
instantly and keeps a running log.

HOW IT WORKS

- A teacher sets up the roster (names, optional photos) and a few simple rules — how long
a pass lasts, whether passes are blocked right after the bell, whether more than one
student can be out at a time.
- Students only ever tap their own photo — they never type anything, and there's no
login or PIN for anyone.
- The teacher's phone shows who's out right now, alerts when a pass runs long or a
student has taken several trips in a day, and a full log of every trip — filterable by
student and date range under Reports.
- Each classroom gets its own private code when it's set up. That code is what connects
the classroom iPad and the teacher's phone to one classroom's data — no other install
of the app can see or touch it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Students never enter any information themselves — only a teacher adds names and
(optional) photos, and only a teacher sees the log and reports. There are no ads, no
analytics, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties. See the privacy policy for

A NOTE ON WHAT THIS APP IS

Hall Pass is a classroom management tool, set up and administered by a teacher as part of
running their classroom. It isn't a game or a social app, has no chat or messaging, and a
student's only interaction with it is tapping their own name on a shared device.

What’s new

Reports now supports a custom date range — handy for pulling a few weeks or a couple of
months of data ahead of parent-teacher conferences. You can also export any report
(the full roster or a single student, whatever range you've got selected) as a CSV file
to share or open in a spreadsheet.
