About this app

Remember When turns a family photo into a puzzle — and the moment of putting it back
together into a chance to hear a familiar voice tell its story.

Studies suggest puzzles can be a good, calm activity for people living with memory loss.
Remember When adds a personal touch: instead of a generic stock photo, every puzzle is a
picture a family member chose on purpose, paired with their own voice telling who's in it,
where it was, and what they remember about that day.

HOW IT WORKS

A family member or caregiver ("the helper") sets everything up: choosing a few meaningful
photos, recording a short voice memo for each one, and answering a couple of simple
questions about how the person is doing day to day. From there, the person playing just
sees one photo at a time — no menus, no login, no score, no wrong answers. A piece that
doesn't fit simply doesn't stick; there's nothing to get wrong.

- Real interlocking puzzle pieces, not just cut-up squares
- A recorded voice plays back when each puzzle comes together
- No score, no timer, no failure state — ever
- Puzzles quietly get a little easier or harder based on how sittings go, without
announcing it or asking permission
- Pacing gently slows in the afternoon and evening, since that time of day can be harder
for a lot of people
- The helper can check in privately on how sessions are going — the player never sees any
of that

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Everything added to the app — photos, recordings, names, how puzzles are going — stays on
the device. There's no account to create, nothing is uploaded or backed up to the cloud,
and nothing is shared with anyone. Read the full privacy policy for details.

A NOTE ON WHAT THIS APP IS — AND ISN'T

Remember When is a calm, personal activity, not a medical product. It does not diagnose,
treat, or claim to improve memory, cognitive function, or any health condition, and it
isn't a substitute for medical advice or care from a qualified professional. It's simply a
gentle way to spend a little time together around a familiar photo and a familiar voice.
