Newest firmware update on my D3400 seems to have fixed prior issues. Has worked flawlessly over the weekend while testing it out. Connection with my G5 was stable and had no issues. Do keep in mind that raw will not send over so if you are a raw shooter, you will have to select both the raw+JPG option in the shooting menu in order to get a copy of the photo on your phone. I like the convenience of the app. Hoping it remains stable now.
I tried pairing a D500 to an android without success. The only useful feature would be remote control but if it doesn't pair then it's a mute point..Honestly only useful for people using a point and shoot. I spent far to much time trying to get this to work. Time I could have been photographing instead. I should have read the reviews before installing.
I bought the Nikon D3400 camera for 2 lens and the name of Nikon. Camera works great. However the Snapbridge worked one time with Samsung S7 and after that nothing. Reset camera and bluetooth on phone. Still not pairing saying the password is wrong. Come on Nikon step up to the plate and get it fixed. 09/24/2017 Update. Got a new phone the Motorola Droid Turbo 2. Now pictures do transfer better and more consistently. By turning off WiFi turning on only Bluetooth then the picture transfer does work.
Having originally connected this to my D5500 using Samsung S6.. all was fine.... however recently with my D500 and Samsung S7, there has been issues. Tried all kinds of combinations to connect.... install, reinstall, firmware upgrade etc etc.. but no joy.. in the end kinda giving up. Hope Nikon look into this as the cameras and lenses are excellent, wish I could say the same for the software.
I updated my d5600 firmware the day I bought it and haven't had any problems with this app... I do wish you were able to control the camera more from the app. Like shutter speed and things like that. I have the auto sync off and mark pictures I want synced from the camera... Over all I'm real pleased with the app. Can't wait to see how they improve it.
New d5600 firmware allows connection to Samsung s7 edge. The transfer of full size images is very slow, as if snapbridge is still sending via Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi. Sending 62 files can deplete a freshly charged battery. I can use it now so that is better but not convinced it's sending over Wi-Fi and just stuck using Bluetooth to send files.
Improved the reliability of the connection to the camera and fixed other bugs.
Note: Before using the app, update the camera firmware to the latest version. Visit the Nikon Download Center to get information on and download the latest firmware.
