SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 CONNECTION TO D5600 SNAPBRIDGE!!! For all those having trouble connecting your android device to your cameras snapbridge feature please follow the steps below to resolve this. Nikon has launched a New FIRMWARE UPDATE for the camera SPECIALLY for ANDROID CONNECTION TO SNAPBRIDGE. You MUST update FIRMWARE for snapbridge to work. 1. UPDATE firmware from 1.01 to 1.02. (You have to do this on your computer first and then transfer it onto your sd card and to your camera and click update under "Firmware Version". 2. Once update is complete. TURN CAMERA OFF. And turn it on again. 3. TURN ON BLUETOOTH...and DO NOT..I repeat, DO NOT TURN ON NFC. On snapbridge app on camera follow steps for "Non-NFC enabled" devices and proceed with connection. You should have no problem, my camera connected immediately on the first try after the update and once you get it to work it's truly an amazing feature to have. Goodluck!
If I could give this app a "0" I would. Absolutely does not connect with Android. Connected with my wife's iPhone AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, but not my Samsung after more than 2 hours. Cant believe there's no way to directly connect to Bluetooth on phone other than this useless app. Of course, Nikon Support is not available on weekends, so I paid for a Bluetooth camera that doesn't actually have Bluetooth. Fix the app, Nikon!
Finally works...I had to upgrade the firmware for my camera (D3400) then install the latest version of the snapbridge app. The firmware update for the camera was released today (6/1/17). Tested on both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6 and both phones can now connect to the camera over blue tooth.
The Bluetooth connection ability is basically useless. I am very disappointed that I can't upload pics to my phone. It worked for a very short time when I got the camera and then the pictures that do upload usually are distorted somehow.
Took over 3 hours to connect my phone (S7) After reading another review they suggested putting the phone on airplane mode, it worked!! I purchased my camera from an actual camera store. The salesman used this app as a big selling feature, will be getting my feedback. Hopefully the connection will continue to work!
I have a Nikon A900 and a Samsung S7. It connected beautifully, just check what both screens are saying while connecting! It downloads images way faster than I was expecting. I'm honestly amazed how well this works.
Added the following to the list of supported digital cameras:
D7500, COOLPIX W300
Reduced the time needed for connection to the D500, D5600, and D3400.
Made some changes to the user interface and messages.
Fixed a minor bug.
