About this app

Some recipes only live in memory. Nivaala helps you keep them.

Your grandmother's dal. Your mother's pickle. The biryani that only tastes right when someone who loves you makes it. These recipes were never written down, and one day, they might be gone.

Nivaala is India's first voice-first food heritage preservation platform. Just speak a recipe in any Indian language, and Nivaala transcribes, organises, and saves it to your family archive. No typing, no formatting, no tech skills needed.

What you can do with Nivaala
Record recipes by voice in 20+ Indian languages
Or type them out, exactly as they were told to you
Build a private family archive and share it with your circles
Explore the Food Atlas, a living map of what families across India are cooking
Share recipes with family anywhere in the world
Turn your archive into a beautiful family cookbook

How it works
Open the app. Press record. Speak the recipe the way your family says it: a fistful of this, cook until it smells right, add love. Nivaala transcribes it, structures it, and keeps it safe.

Your recipes are private by default. Only the people you invite can see them. If you choose, you can share a recipe to the Food Atlas and contribute to India's culinary map.

Family Circles
Invite your family members to a private circle and build a shared recipe archive together. Your mother in Chennai, your aunt in Ahmedabad, your sister in London. One circle. One archive. Every recipe, together.

The Food Atlas
India has over thousands of food traditions. Most exist only in memory. The Food Atlas is a community-built map of what families across India are cooking. Every recipe shared is one tradition saved.

Your recipes are safe
Everything you record belongs to you and your family. No recipe is ever shared without your explicit choice. Your grandmother's secret dal stays secret, unless you decide otherwise.

Why Nivaala
Nivaala was built on a personal loss. Our founder's mother never wrote down her recipes. Nivaala exists so that never happens to another family.
