About this app

afterglance is for moments when two people crossed paths — at a café, on a metro, in a bookstore — and neither said anything.

it only works if both sides remember the same moment the same way. one-sided descriptions go nowhere and are erased within 48 hours. a private conversation opens only when two independent descriptions agree, from both sides, about the same place and time.


— how it works
pin the place. describe the moment in your own words — both what you noticed and what you looked like. that's it.

somewhere else, the same moment might be living in someone else's note. if their description of you lines up with your description of them, and the place and time match, a private conversation opens between the two of you. only then.

no profiles. no photos. no usernames. no public feed. no swiping.


— the privacy part
we keep almost nothing. the approximate place, the time, the text of the note while it's active — and that's it. no name, no photo, no contacts, no gps history. notes fade after 48 hours if they don't match. once a conversation ends, the notes that led to it are gone.


— safety and community
afterglance is for adults (18+) who choose to use it. we have zero tolerance for abusive users or objectionable content — hate speech, harassment, sexual content, threats, illegal material, or any content that targets someone who did not choose to be on afterglance.

every note and message runs through an automated filter before it reaches anyone else. from any conversation you can report a message or block the other person with one tap. reported content is reviewed by a human within 24 hours, and users who violate these rules lose access to the service and have their data removed.

to report abuse outside the app or raise a safety concern, email [e-mail]. a real person responds within 24 hours.


— who it's for
adults who value slow, private, consensual reconnection. afterglance is not a tool for finding, observing, or contacting people who have not also chosen to use the app.


— afterglance ink (subscription, in-app purchase)

your first match is always free. after that, continuing to leave notes requires an afterglance ink subscription.

afterglance ink is an auto-renewable subscription:
• monthly: $4.99 / month
• yearly: $39.99 / year (saves 33%)

with ink you can leave up to three notes at once, so more than one moment can wait for you at a time.

the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. you can manage or cancel anytime in your Play Store account → Subscriptions.
