The Shield has been a downgrade for me compared to the simple, $40 Roku I had before. It's buggy, crashes constantly, freezes, and these things happen every night that I use it. But we're for the app ... an app that's in many ways like the Shield box itself. It too isn't without its annoyances. For one, if you use it and let the app run in the background, when you come back to it, it ignores all screen/button taps. Closing it takes a 10x press of the back button. All this for $200?! Huh!?
App is terrible. It connected to my shield quickly after entering a PIN. I was able to switch to an app and navigate for maybe 10 seconds... And then it completely stopped responding. Nothing I pushed within the app would register on the TV. I tried to reconnect a few times and I never got it to work for more than 15-20 seconds at most.

If go with 3.5 but here we are. It used to work perfectly, but in the past months, maybe with new android version, if I leave the app idle for a few minutes, it loses connection and I have to restart the app to do anything. It's still how control my Shield, but it's certainly an inconvenience.
