MonkeyMote gives you a full-fledged wireless music remote control for your Android phone.

It fully supports the popular foobar2000, MediaMonkey 4, Winamp, AIMP 2 & 3 and JRiver Media Center media players.

The app connects to the media player running on your Windows PC via your WiFi network and allows you to view information about currently playing tracks and control every important playback feature.

Please note that the automatic server discovery feature requires at least Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is not supported by all devices. It is disabled by default on devices that are not running at least Android 4.4 due to an operating system bug that can trigger reboots on some devices.

Great replacement for the foobar2000 controller that no longer works on newer Android versions. I wish this app had a home screen widget and would keep the connection to the app alive longer, though. Sometimes I put my phone to sleep for five seconds, hear a song I don't like, open it back up, and have to wait for it to reconnect which sometimes fails for no apparent reason. By and large, though, this does the job and does it well.

This app functions very well. There are just not enough functions. From the current playlist, one can neither go directly to the currently playing artist or the current album. My biggest gripe is rather about the size of the album cover. It might as well be an icon. Just move it to the left of the scrolling menu. Altogether too much room is spent on the current playlist. Plenty of room for the cover as well as the playlist. Also, the app not rotate to portrait mode! Not good. Only worth 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐.

After a long spell of constant trouble connecting, all of a sudden the automatic connection began working flawlessly! Navigating the library isn't great but as a remote control while playing it works just fine.
