The presented Application was born from the desire to share the richness of the word that we receive every day in the liturgy. It is also a concrete response to the invitation expressed in the Constitution on the Liturgy of the Second Vatican Council that "the faithful actively participate in liturgical rites, because this is what the liturgy itself demands" (see KL 14). That is why we hope that our application will help those who will use it to participate in the liturgy more consciously and therefore more fully and actively.
The title "From Word to Life" indicates the path we have to cover. The word that we hear in the liturgy - not only in readings, but also that which the priest says in our name in the form of prayers - is to become our life, to transform and shape it. That is why we suggest meeting the word on three levels:
mind - which, by carefully reading and listening to the word, opens to the truth it contains;
will - which is strengthened by meditating on the word with the help of the general introduction to the whole liturgy and meditation after each reading, which makes us grounded in the desire to follow Jesus, who is the path and shows us the right direction with his life;
hearts - which, moved by a word, will be kindled with love for Jesus Master and brothers and sisters. And this love will be expressed by taking concrete action in life.
The questions that can be found at the end of each day, as well as our own heart movements, can help in recognizing what this action should be.
Additional texts have also been added to the application that can help you experience the liturgy and personal prayer better: the texts of the Eucharistic preface and prayers, which form an integral part of the liturgy of the Holy Mass. - it is worth spending some time considering these texts so that they too can become an inspiration for prayer flowing from the heart. In addition, morning and evening prayers, a prayer to Saint. Archangel Michael. Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to the Precious Blood, to the Holy Name of Jesus as well as the Loreto Litany to the Holy Virgin and rosary meditations.
We want to make our application a help also for those who can not participate in the daily liturgy, but want to enrich it, understand it and deepen its meaning in their daily prayer. We hope that everyone using it will be able to accompany the application in various everyday situations: during commuting, to school, to university, and above all during everyday meetings with the Lord.
The application itself is free, but access to some parts such as comments or introductions to readings is paid. This is to help us maintain it and adapt its content to the needs of people who use both the application and the traditional, printed version of our liturgical monthly "From Word to Life."
