The functionality is very buggy, particularly when controlling devices. If the app was left open in the background, it will not connect to a device until it is closed completely and reopened. The store front also often doesn't load, making that pay off the app pointless. The biggest issue is the requirement that I share my location if I want to connect to a device - why do you need my location for a Bluetooth connection to change the color of a sphere? That requirement was changed in android 12.

Update: A year and a half later nothing has changed. The store is still the center of attention instead of the products you have bought working with the app. Now my Ostrip will turn on and off with the app but it will not open the page allowing customization. I think Olight's best years have come and gone, the quality of their products and this app have been going downhill for years. Asks for too many permissions. Doesn't work half the time, have to restart the app to connect to products.

Bought an Ostation X, and went through the process of adding it to the app. yes, 2.4ghz wifi. It just doesn't show up in the app after saying successfully added. Typical of Chinese products: hardware works, horrible app experience. I run an IT company and can confirm the hardware is on WiFi and has a valid IP, but no matter how many times I went through the process it just doesn't show up in the app. I had a similar experience with the Osphere. good hardware, garbage app. returning them.
