What it can and cannot do: the app reads your device's magnetometer, so it detects metal. It finds the fixings that hold a stud, not the timber itself, and gives an estimate rather than a measurement. It cannot see through walls, it does not detect wood, and it does not detect live electrical wiring. Always check before you drill.
