About this app

Code for Real teaches you to write real HTML, CSS, and JavaScript by snapping together blocks. Every block is real code, not a simplified stand-in, so you learn the actual languages that power the web.
Coding is how you turn your ideas into something real. Art, games, puzzles, cards, anything you can imagine. Code for Real gives you the tools to build it.
HOW IT WORKS
Follow guided lessons that teach one small step at a time. Add a block, watch your page come to life, and understand exactly what each piece does. You learn three languages that work together. HTML builds the pieces. CSS adds the style, colors, and animation. JavaScript makes everything move and react.
LEARN AND PLAY
The Learn section walks you through building real projects step by step, starting with a virtual pet you can play with and show off. When you are ready, move over to Play, your own open space to build whatever you want using the same blocks you learned, with no rules and no wrong answers.
BUILT FOR CURIOUS MINDS
Designed to be simple and welcoming for kids and beginners, while teaching real coding skills that carry over to actual web development. No experience needed, just curiosity.
WHAT YOU CAN BUILD
Follow lessons to build a virtual pet, a recipe card, a trading card, and more. Then head to Play and make your own creations from a blank page, or start from a template to get going fast.
