About this app

Onyx is a tasbih counter built for people who want to count, not to be sold to.

No ads. No subscription. No account. Your counts and history never leave your device.

COUNT WITHOUT LOOKING
Dim mode turns the screen fully black and keeps it awake; a long press anywhere brings it back. Your taps and the volume buttons still count, so you can hold the phone and keep your eyes closed. The volume keys count as well; you can switch that off in settings if you would rather use them only for volume.

THREE WAYS TO COUNT
Tap anywhere, swipe up or down, or use the volume buttons. All three go through the same counter, so the number is always the same one.

YOU FEEL THE BOUNDARIES
A light tap at every 33. A stronger one when you reach your goal. Sound is off by default and can be turned on in settings.

YOUR COUNT DOES NOT DISAPPEAR
The number survives closing the app, and even the system killing it. Finished sessions are saved with the date, time, duration and count — free and unlimited.

SET IT UP THE WAY YOU COUNT
Targets of 33, 99, 100 or any number you choose. Start from any value. Name a session if you want to; we do not put any words in your mouth.

BUILT FOR EVERY EYE
Large numerals, high contrast, and layouts that hold together at 200% system font size. Works with TalkBack.

WHAT THE ONE-TIME PURCHASE ADDS
Two more bead materials — amber and ebony — and exporting your history as a CSV file. It is a single purchase, not a subscription. Everything else, including the whole history, is free forever.

PERMISSIONS
No dangerous permissions. Onyx uses vibration, internet, a network check, and Google Play billing — the last three only so the store can confirm your purchase. No location, no contacts, no camera, no microphone, no advertising ID.

What’s new

Every bead now vibrates on phones whose motor could not render the faintest effect. A bead, the 33 boundary and reaching your goal are three different feelings again.
